Live Music Venues

Galway City is renowned for its live music scene. While nearly every Pub in Galway hosts live music at some point, many pubs have live music on a weekly and in some cases a daily basis. Most music styles can be heard somewhere if you look hard enough. In this article we have left out traditional Irish music pubs from this article because they have their own section.

The Roisin Dubh
Undisputed King of the live music scene in Galway City. Diverse range of music styles. Open until 2am nightly.

The Kings Head
Popular spot with nightly rock cover bands all week with Dj's at the weekends .

The Cellar
Two venues- Upstairs and downstairs. In the 1970's an Irish music hotspot but nowadays plays host to covers bands and many one off gigs of various styles including a regular open mic night.

Sally Longs
Home of punk and hard core rock in Galway City. Sallys has been flying the flag for hardcore for over 20 years.

Bar 903 and Cuba Live
Bar 903 has a solid line up of diverse acts every week while Cuba live plays host to some great one off gigs.

The Quays Live
Upstairs at the Quays is the place to go for the slightly older crowd. Local favourites such as the Conquerors still draw in the crowds. Covers bands and occasionally tribute bands

The Spanish Arch
Covers bands at the weekends including local favourites Pyramid on a Sunday as well as some Irish music midweek.

The Crane
Although well known as an Irish music mecca they have branched out in recent years to singer songwriters and folk music.

Monroes
Good place to catch some Irish folk or ballads

An Pucan
